Position Summary
Icy Strait Point Culinary Assistant must be comfortable communicating and conversing with staff and guests. The Culinary Assistant must have the ability to operate a computerized cash register.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: BAP: Best, Authentic, Profitable
- Setting up and sanitizing workstations
- Following prep lists created by Lead Culinary Host
- Measuring ingredients and seasonings and preparing cooking ingredients for each tour start time
- Ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible
- Assist with the set up and cleaning for each tour
- Assist with keeping track of ingredients inventory
- Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen, including taking out trash
- Participate in all required training
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
- A team player with good communication skills
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
- Precious experience in a commercial kitchen desired
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
- Have or be able to attain ServSafe Manager Certification and TAP’s Card
- Have or be able to attain First Aid/CPR certification
- Able to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and walk 5+ miles daily
- Willing to live in a remote, rural community for a minimum of 6 months per year
