Salary: $85,000 - $90,000 /year

Job Summary

The Culinary Operations Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for smooth food and beverage operations, focusing on quality food, excellent service, and team performance. You will collaborate with culinary and service teams to ensure high standards, proper menu execution, safety, and inventory management, delivering consistent and exceptional experiences.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Management:
  • Manage managers and associates, fostering a positive environment.
  • Develop training programs and manage schedules, PTO, and operational support.
  • Handle hiring, termination, disciplinary actions, payroll, and safety training.
Culinary & Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee culinary quality, menu innovation, and standards adherence.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and support culinary activations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized back-of-house environment.
Food and Beverage Operations:
  • Participate in food prep and service, ensuring safety, sanitation, and presentation standards.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction and manage cleaning, inventory, and work orders.
Financial Management and Administration:
  • Maintain accurate records, manage costs, and contribute to financial accountability.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Address safety violations and ensure regulatory compliance.
Customer and Client Relations:
  • Build positive relationships, address concerns, and maintain professionalism.
Other Duties:
  • Perform additional tasks to support Dining Services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. in Food Services Management or related; or A.A. plus 4 years of experience.
  • 5-7 years in foodservice management, including inventory and purchasing.
  • Knowledge of food trends, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation.
  • Previous P&L or contract management experience is desirable.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and supervisory skills.
  • Experience in union environments and corporate dining.
  • State/county food handler's card, ServSafe certification, and Washington State MAST permit required.
