SUMMARY

Currently searching for a full-time Culinary Operations Lead for Restaurant at Kellogg ranch (RKR) under the supervision of Executive Chef. The Culinary Operations Lead supports the Executive Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen and plays a critical role in maintaining organization, food quality, sanitation, safety, and operational efficiency. This position assists with inventory management, receiving and storage procedures, production scheduling, kitchen supervision, and operational support during service and special events. The Culinary Operations Lead works closely with restaurant class student managers, culinary students, and staff to support both instructional and operational goals

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

• Support the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations, food production, and service execution
• Assist with preparation and coordination of lunch, dinner, banquet, and special event services
• Work collaboratively with student employees, restaurant class student managers, and culinary staff.
• Support training, supervision, and daily coordination of kitchen team members
• Manage and organize kitchen walk-ins, dry storage, freezers, and inventory rotation using FIFO practices
• Receive deliveries and verify product quality, quantities, temperatures, and invoice accuracy
• Maintain inventory organization and communicate low stock or ordering needs to management
• Assist with requisitions, inventory counts, purchasing support, and production scheduling
• Ensure all food products are properly labeled, dated, and stored according to food safety standards
• Must be able to complete LiveScan background process successfully.
• Serve Safe Certificate or other relevant food safety credentials.
• Ability to adhere to regular work schedule, which may include evenings and weekends.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or related field, degree can be substituted with 5-7 years of experience in direct field.
• Excellent English verbal communication and writing skills
• Responsible and dependable
• Ability to work well with various people including students, faculty, staff, and high-level administrators
• Motivated, innovative, and shows initiative
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, and Excel
