Job summary

Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is seeking a Part-Time Lead to help manage the Lollicup operation on campus. You will lead staff during shifts, assign daily tasks, train on beverage preparation, and ensure strict adherence to recipes, quality, and sanitation standards.

You will also oversee inventory, labeling, store cleanliness, and customer service while supporting management with onboarding and special projects. Flexible evenings/weekends required.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of job-related experience in food/beverage service is required.
• Must have a current Food Handler certification or be able to obtain it.
• Demonstrated leadership and the ability to direct employees.
• Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to learn and follow standardized beverage recipes and procedures.
• Able to work independently with limited supervision.

• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Previous Lollicup, bubble tea, or lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of Management, the Lollicup Part-Time Lead is responsible for assisting with the daily operation of Lollicup, including leading and supporting staff, assigning daily responsibilities, maintaining product and inventory levels, ensuring beverages are prepared according to established recipes, and maintaining customer service, food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards. The Part-Time Lead will assist management in ensuring efficient day-to-day operations and positive guest experience.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety)

• Lead and support Lollicup employees during assigned shifts.
• Assign daily tasks and oversee completion of opening, service, and closing responsibilities.
• Train and coach employees on beverage preparation, recipes, customer service, food safety, sanitation, and proper procedures.
• Ensure beverages and other products are prepared according to standardized recipes and portion guidelines.
• Monitor product quality and consistency.
• Ensure the store and all workstations are properly set up and ready for service.
• Monitor product, milk, toppings, cups, straws, and other supply levels throughout the shift.
• Assist with inventory counts, PAR levels, product organization, and identifying items that need to be ordered.
• Ensure products are properly labeled, dated, rotated, and stored.
• Monitor cleanliness and sanitation of counters, equipment, sinks, storage areas, and customer-facing areas.
• Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed correctly.
• Ensure equipment is properly cleaned and maintained according to established procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist employees with resolving guest concerns.
• Assist with cash handling and register procedures as assigned.
• Assist with training and onboarding new employees.
• Maintain and reinforce daily cleaning schedules and checklists.
• Communicate product shortages, staffing concerns, equipment problems, or other operational issues to management.
• Serve as a point of contact for employees during assigned shifts.
• Assist management with operational projects and other responsibilities as needed.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 6 or more months of job-related experience; previous food service or beverage service experience required.
• Must have a current Food Handler certification or be able to obtain required certification.
• Must demonstrate leadership and the ability to provide direction to employees.
• Must possess strong communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to learn and consistently follow standardized beverage recipes and procedures.
• Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Must be organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be dependable and demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Previous Lollicup, boba/beverage, or lead experience preferred.
