Job summary

Laurel Cove in Shoreline, WA, seeks a hands-on Culinary Guest Associate to support kitchen and dining functions, including meal service, portion control, and dishwashing. A primary focus is sanitation and safety through cleaning work areas and proper waste handling.

You will assist with inventory, stocking supplies, and ensure meal distribution follows dietary guidelines. Must have Food Handler's Card and 1+ year in customer service or food service (senior living preferred).

Qualifications

• Must possess or be able to immediately obtain a Food Handler's Card.
• At least one year of experience in a customer service or food service role.
• Exceptional customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills; friendly and professional image.
• Strong team player, multitasks, and collaborates across departments.
• Ability to follow policies and handle cash safely and cost-effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve all meals promptly using proper portion control.
• Assist the cook with food and snack preparation, maintaining sanitation standards.
• Set up, deliver, and retrieve trays and food carts; check diet trays for accuracy.
• Perform all daily cleaning and dishwashing procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and dry kitchen/dining environment; handle waste disposal.
• Inventory, stock, and organize all food and supplies.
• Follow all food policies and make only authorized substitutions.
• Support the Director/Dietitian in implementing changes.
