Job summary

Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis is seeking Culinary Externs to join our luxury kitchen team. Externs will learn hands-on in a world-class environment, under culinary leadership, focusing on professional techniques and teamwork.

You will assist chefs, practice mise en place, and help maintain high hygiene and safety standards while preparing dishes and plating for service periods. The externship lasts approximately six months and offers valuable industry exposure.

Qualifications

• Culinary school enrollment or recent graduation is an advantage.
• Strong interest in culinary arts and hospitality.
• Willingness to learn, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
• Basic English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with basic food preparation and daily kitchen tasks.
• Support mise en place and ensure ingredients are prepared according to standards.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene in all work areas.
• Follow standard recipes and assist with plating and presentation.
• Adhere to HACCP, hygiene, and safety procedures at all times.
• Support different kitchen sections and assist during events and service periods.

As a Culinary Ex tern, you will support daily kitchen operations while gaining hands‑on experience in a luxury hospitality environment. Under the guidance of our culinary leadership, you will learn professional kitchen standards, food preparation techniques, and the importance of teamwork - building a strong foundation for a successful culinary career.

Externship Period: Approx. 6 months
