Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced culinary instructor to design and deliver engaging courses aligned with educational standards. The role involves clear lectures, live demonstrations, and hands-on guidance for participants while maintaining a safe kitchen environment.

Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of culinary teaching experience, an associate degree in culinary arts or related field, and may require bilingual abilities.

Qualifications

• Must have problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in meat roasting and preparation of sauces, gravies, vegetables, meats, cereal, hors d'oeuvres, eggs, soup, casseroles, frying, broiling, steaming, baking, and grilling.
• Experience working in a team-based or clinical environment is preferred.
• 3 or more years of teaching experience in culinary settings.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops engaging culinary courses and curricula aligned with educational standards and participants' needs.
• Delivers lectures clearly, demonstrates cooking techniques, and guides hands-on exercises.
• Ensures a safe, clean kitchen by following food safety regulations and maintaining equipment.
• Sets up stations and monitors participant engagement throughout the course.
• Prepares catered events including luncheons, buffets, and dinners as needed.
