Job summary

HHS is seeking a friendly, team-oriented Culinary Dishwasher/Stocker for Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. You will maintain a clean kitchen, assist with stocking, and ensure hygienic handling of meals in the hospital cafeteria.

Shifts include Day/Evening/Night with background checks, drug screening, and employment eligibility verification. Wage is $15 per hour; full-time and part-time positions are available. Candidates must be 18+, English-speaking, and neatly groomed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment.
• Must practice good personal hygiene, be neatly groomed, and be in uniform.

Responsibilities

• Maintain order and cleanliness of the kitchen, dining room, and storeroom.
• Put away deliveries, label and date products, and break down boxes.
• Stock and monitor towels and soap dispensers throughout the shift.
• Clean and return all kitchen equipment and serving ware in a timely manner.
• Set up and maintain a 3-compartment sink and dish machine.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, and spot clean floors and high-traffic areas.
• Monitor and empty trash cans.
• Adhere to the facility's health and safety policies and procedures.
• Assist team members and management as needed to help the department operate efficiently.

Physical Requirements

• Capable of prolonged standing and walking continuously, pushing dish racks, frequent stooping, bending, and lifting up to 40 pounds
• Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job
• Preferred: Culinary experience (cook, commercial kitchen, fast food, hotel operations, healthcare, dishwasher, housekeeping, janitor, custodian)
