Job summary

The Ricardo Marriott DFW Westlake is hiring a Cook I to join our high-volume, guest-focused kitchen. You will collaborate with Culinary Curators across stations, follow recipes, maintain sanitation, and help deliver consistent plates that reflect our hotel’s standards.

Preferred candidates have a high school diploma, culinary training, and prior cooking experience; Marriott hotel experience is a plus. We value teamwork, organization, and a commitment to food safety in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Culinary training or coursework is preferred.
• Previous professional cooking experience is required.
• Hotel/restaurant/banquet or high-volume culinary experience is preferred.
• Marriott or full-service hotel experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of food-safety, sanitation, storage and temperature-control procedures.
• Food-handler certification is required or must be obtained within the hotel timeline.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.
• Work across stations (sauté, grill, fry, pantry, banquet production).
• Set up station with necessary ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, portioning and storing.
• Coordinate timing with team to ensure timely service.
• Support restaurant, banquet, room-service and special events as needed.
• Review banquet orders and production needs for proper execution.
• Check food quality, freshness, flavor, appearance and temperature.
• Follow recipes with consistency and portion control.
• Accommodate allergies and dietary requests per procedures.
• Keep workstations and kitchen spaces clean and organized.
