Job summary

North Slope Borough School District (NSBSD) is seeking a Career and Technical Education Instructor to guide students in acquiring basic skills per district guidelines and industry standards. The role emphasizes individualized instruction, frequent assessment, and collaboration with staff, families and the community to support student pathways.

The position is grant funded and non-benefitted for the current year, with continuation dependent on funds.

Responsibilities

• Consult with CTE Director/Manager in program development.
• Create a culturally safe and responsive instructional environment and program plan.
• Encourage a Grow Your Own career path for middle/high school students.
• Build and maintain relationships with North Slope entities to grow the CTE program.
• Promote and support NSBSD Board strategic goals.
• Participate in educational committees and organizations for district benefit.
• Adhere to teacher ethics and professional standards.
• Provide safety instruction for power tools and hazardous materials.
• Stay current in CTE practices and district policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Director/Manager.
