Forest Hills Commons in Jeffersontown, KY is seeking a skilled Culinary Cook to prepare meals for a senior living community. The role focuses on nutritious, high-quality meals served safely in a welcoming environment.

Schedule is 11am-7pm with starting pay at $17/hour. The position requires ServSafe certification, HS diploma, and strong leadership to supervise servers and coordinate daily food service. On-Demand Pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in batches ensuring proper temperature.
• Taste all food before serving to residents to ensure quality.
• Package hot and cold plates for delivery maintaining proper temperature.
• Plan menus and prepare seasonally inspired meals including dietary requirements.
• Monitor and record food temperatures at each meal.
• Adjust food for appearance, flavor, smell, and texture.
• Plan Chef's Choice items daily with Culinary Director.
• Supervise servers to assist with food prep, cleaning, and storage.
• Oversee servers completing resident checklists and communicate needs.
• Assist in receiving and storage of deliveries.
• Maintain a clean food service area during preparation and service.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Culinary Cook to join our team at a senior living community. The Culinary Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality meals that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents in a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment.

• Prepare palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in batches ensuring proper temperature
• Taste all food before serving to residents to ensure the food is good quality and palatable
• Cover all hot plates and place under a heat lamp for delivery; cover and place cold plates in a designated area, ensuring all are served at the proper temperature
• Plan menus and prepare seasonally inspired meals, including any special dietary requirements
• Monitor and record food temperatures at each meal
• Frequently taste and adjust food for proper appearance, flavor, smell, and consistency
• Plan Chef's Choice items to be served daily, verifying selection with Culinary Director as requested
• Supervise servers to prepare food, clean, and store supplies and equipment
• Oversee servers as they complete resident checklists and communicate to ensure residents' needs are met
• Assists in receiving and storage of deliveries from vendors
• Maintains a clean food service work area as food preparation and service is in process

Work Experience Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent required
