Job summary

The Culinary Institute of America - California is seeking a Chef Instructor to teach in classroom and kitchen lab environments, develop curriculum, and contribute to the college’s intellectual property while maintaining high professional standards.

You will prepare lesson plans, teach and evaluate students, revise course materials, and advise students on academics and careers in the foodservice industry, while upholding college policies and mission.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent in Culinary Arts, Foodservice Management, Hospitality, or related field.
• Minimum seven (7) years industry experience.
• At least three (3) years supervisory experience with both management and line level employees.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in related fields.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily instructional lesson plans and instruct per college policy.
• Assess learning outcomes and evaluate student performance using rubrics.
• Instruct lectures and hands-on classes on campus or off campus to professional standards.
• Advise students academically and provide career guidance.
• Develop course guides, syllabi, and curriculum materials; monitor learning outcomes.
