Cedar Trails Senior Living in Freeburg, IL is seeking a Sous Chef to lead our culinary team and deliver exceptional dining aligned with our residents’ needs. The role focuses on maintaining high culinary standards, supervising staff, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations in a full-time capacity.

The position requires leadership, teamwork, and strong communication, with a schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, 6:00am–2:00pm.

Qualifications

• Leadership, training and supervision experience in a senior housing or related setting.
• Proficient written and verbal communication with management and staff.
• Ability to create, modify and print Word and Excel documents.

Responsibilities

• Ensure culinary standards and provide residents with exceptional dining while controlling portions and waste.
• Supervise and inspect culinary service, logs, equipment, storage, and sanitation.
• Lead the kitchen team in day-to-day operations, fostering engagement, coaching and accountability.
