Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is seeking a part-time Food Service Assistant to perform food service duties, cashiering, dishwashing, and kitchen maintenance at the Downtown Milwaukee campus. You will support catering, inventory, and student/staff services while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

The role runs up to 19 hours per week during the academic year, with hours between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and may include some nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1 year related experience.
• Knowledge of sanitation and hygiene standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist and/or prepare customer orders: eggs, grill and fryer items.
• Follow recipes from electronic data base.
• Food prep: cleaning, peeling, cutting vegetables, mixing ingredients, sandwich prep.
• Prepare food for distribution and maintain serving line selections.
• Provide customer service and address concerns; maintain sanitary conditions.
• Restock daily; assist catering setup and cleanup.
• Deliver catering orders to designated rooms; relay orders.
• Collaborate with faculty and students in culinary activities.
