Job summary

The Goodman Group, LLC is seeking a Culinary Assistant to support dietary operations and help provide meals residents are proud to call home. The role assists in all dietary functions under established Culinary Operations policies.

You will serve meals, prepare food to sanitary standards, assist with dining room setup and cleanup, and ensure trays and utensils are ready for service while delivering Platinum Service to residents, guests, and staff.

Qualifications

• Must meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position.
• Food service and/or hospitality experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations and the established policies and procedures.
• Assist in daily and scheduled cleaning duties.
• Set up meal trays, food carts and the dining room, as instructed.
• Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
• Set up and prepare food for the upcoming meal.
• Assist with bussing tables during and after meals.
• Check meal trays for accuracy before distribution.
• Deliver food carts and trays to designated areas.
• Assist with the set up and refill of catering and/or buffet functions.
• Prepare and deliver snacks as instructed.
• Maintain a clean work area and kitchen by sweeping and mopping as needed.
• Assist with cleaning the dining area and the backroom kitchen area as needed.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established Culinary Operations policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

• Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance. Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Provide Platinum Service® to each resident, guest and staff member.
• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations and the established policies and procedures.
• Assist in daily and scheduled cleaning duties.
• Set up meal trays, food carts and the dining room, as instructed.
• Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
• Set up and prepare food for the upcoming meal.
• Set up the menu for the upcoming meal.
• Assist with bussing tables during and after meals.
• Check meal trays for accuracy before distribution.
• Ensure appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident's meal tray.
• Deliver food carts and trays to designated areas.
• Assist with the set up and refill of catering and/or buffet functions.
• Prepare and deliver snacks as instructed.
• Ensure that food and supplies for the next meal are readily available.
• Assist in food preparation as requested.
• Maintain a clean work area and kitchen by sweeping and mopping as needed.
• Assist with cleaning the dining area and the backroom kitchen area as needed.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge And Critical Skills

• Be able to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
• Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
• Communicate in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, team members, residents, and families.
