Job summary

Ebenezer seeks a Culinary Assistant/Server for The Pillars of Hermantown in Minnesota. You will deliver dining room meal service to residents and maintain kitchenettes for the Assisted Living community.

The role supports a 60-hour biweekly schedule, full-time day/early evening shifts, and includes every other weekend and holiday rotation. You will follow serving procedures, accommodate dietary needs, and ensure sanitation.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year experience in food service or related role.
• Preferred High School Diploma.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals and keep dining area clean and inviting.
• Follow meal serving schedule and procedures.
• Offer resident meal choices and accommodate dietary needs.
• Use proper safety and sanitation techniques.
• Prepare dining room set-up and maintain workflow.
• Learn and use the EMenu System and service style.
• Ensure dishes and utensils are cleaned and stored after shift.
• Provide positive resident relations and address concerns with appropriate escalation.

The Pillars of Hermantown is Ebenezer's newest managed senior living community in northern Minnesota, near Duluth and will offer Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care options with 105 total apartments near major crossroads and amongst beautiful scenary. We are looking for a Culinary Assistant/Server to join our team! This role is responsible for dining room meal service to our residents and maintaining supplies in the kitchenettes for our Assisted Living Community in Hermantown, MN. This position is responsible for dining room and to go meal service to residents.

This schedule includes;

• 60 hours every two weeks
• Full time; Day/Early evening shifts
• Includes every other weekend & holiday rotation

Responsibilities

• Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting:
• Follows meal serving schedule and procedures.
• Offers resident meal choices and meets resident’s specific dietary needs.
• Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques.
• Follows dining room cleaning schedule and procedures.
• Follow proper procedures for dining room set-up.
• Follows proper work flow to stay on task.
• Learns and becomes proficient with EMenu System and restaurant style service.
• Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before end of shift.
• Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction:
• Welcomes residents and initiates conversation.
• Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
• Listens to any complaints and responds appropriately. Refers issues to Executive Director and Culinary Director as appropriate.
