Fairview Health Services' Riley Crossing senior living community in Chanhassen, MN is hiring a part-time Culinary Assistant for 20 hours every two weeks, 4:00pm-7:00pm, every other weekend. You will serve meals in the dining room and assist with to-go meals, ensuring a welcoming, clean dining environment and honoring dietary needs.

The role emphasizes resident relations, helping with substitutions, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of hospitality or dining service experience.
• High School Diploma preferred.
• 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves meals and maintains a clean, inviting dining area with sanitation practices.
• Promotes resident relations, attends to substitutions, and addresses complaints with escalation as needed.

Job Overview

Riley Crossing senior living community located in Chanhassen, MN near Hwy 101 and County Road 212. Opened in 2019, it hosts 134 units of Independent, Assisted Living, Enhanced and Memory Care in total. This location also offers on-site intergenerational child care and interactive programming with our seniors.

The Culinary Assistant is responsible for dining room and to go meal service to residents.

Schedule includes;

• 20 hours every two weeks ; Part Time
• 4:00pm-7:00pm Shift
• Every other weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting:
  • Follows meal serving schedule and procedures.
  • Offers resident meal choices and meets resident’s specific dietary needs.
  • Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques.
  • Follows dining room cleaning schedule and procedures.
  • Follow proper procedures for dining room set-up.
  • Follows proper work flow to stay on task.
  • Learns and becomes proficient with EMenu System and restaurant style service.
  • Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before end of shift.
• Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction:
  • Welcomes residents and initiates conversation.
  • Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
  • Listens to any complaints and responds appropriately. Refers issues to Executive Director and Culinary Director as appropriate.
