Job summary

Brethren Care Village in Ashland, Ohio is seeking a part-time Culinary Assistant for days or evenings. Pay ranges from $12.50 to $14.30 per hour, based on experience.

You will support dining room service, assist with tray delivery, and help maintain a clean kitchen and dining areas in our assisted living community. Join a Christian-based, mission-driven team with opportunities for growth, tuition reimbursement, PTO, and benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age; work permit required for employees under 18.
• Customer Service skills preferred.
• Prior food service experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Dining room service, including serving residents, carrying trays, and delivering/picking up trays from nursing carts.
• Performing cleaning tasks on schedule, including trash disposal, dishwashing, and sweeping/mopping floors.
• Performing kitchen tasks such as prep work, food storage labeling, using kitchen equipment, and handling chemicals.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do as a Culinary Assistant:

• Dining room service, including serving residents, carrying residents' trays and delivering/picking up trays from nursing carts.
• Performing tasks on a cleaning schedule, including trash disposal, dishwashing, and sweeping & mopping floors.
• Performing a variety of tasks in the kitchen, including prep work, ensuring proper food storage by labelling & dating food items, operating kitchen equipment, handling chemicals and cleaning equipment, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.
