Job summary

Brethren Care Village is seeking a Baker and Kitchen Helper for the Main Kitchen. This part-time position runs 1:30pm–5:30pm, totaling 12–16 hours per week. Pay ranges from $13.50 to $15.30 per hour, based on experience.

The role includes food prep, serving meals, stocking, sanitation, and collaboration with the Dietary Manager to ensure proper portions and diet needs. Must be 18+, with baking knowledge and Serve Safe certification or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 18 years of age with a minimum of 10th grade education.
• Knowledge of baking.
• Serve Safe certification or willing to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and portions food such as salads, desserts and vegetables in accordance with production sheets, standardized recipes, portion control and time schedules.
• Serves meals in Main Kitchen.
• Assists in the dish room.
• Puts stock away using FIFO (First in First out).
• Maintains high standards of sanitation and completes daily and special cleaning tasks as outlined on the sanitation checklist.
• Meets with the Dietary Manager to review daily menus and special functions to ensure proper portion control and that special diet needs are being met.
• Bakes general baking goods.
• Attends in-service training sessions.
