Job summary

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking a Culinary Arts Program Director and Instructor to be located on the Floyd County Campus and travel to other campuses as needed. This on-campus role reports to the Dean of Business and Public Service Technologies.

The position combines program leadership with classroom instruction, curriculum development, and oversight of budgets, safety, and compliance. A ServSafe certification and teaching experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts required.
  • 5 years food service experience or 2 years supervisory/management experience in food service.
  • ServSafe certification required for teaching course.

Responsibilities

  • Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives.
  • Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses.
  • Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares required budget requests.
  • Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate.
  • Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
  • Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss instructional programs and other issues.
  • Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position will report to the Dean of Business and Public Service Technologies. The Program Director/Instructor is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction for the program .
