Job summary

The State of Georgia, through McRae Correctional Facility, invites applications for a Culinary Instructor to deliver entry-level culinary courses to incarcerated students. Under general supervision, you will teach techniques, manage class demonstrations, and maintain course materials and grade books.

Responsibilities include using approved syllabi, administering tests, recording results, and reporting on inventory and student progress.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements: High school diploma or GED, active Chef Certification (ServSafe or similar).
• 3 years paid full-time, in-field work experience.
• Preferred: college diploma or higher in culinary arts or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Deliver entry-level culinary instruction to students at McRae Correctional Facility.
• Demonstrate appropriate teaching techniques and testing/grading procedures.
• Maintain grade books and records accurately and on time.
• Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with students and staff.
• Follow approved course syllabus and current in-field procedures.
• Complete all reports, maintain inventory of assigned properties.
