Job summary

South Texas College is seeking a lecturer to teach culinary arts on an as-needed basis across its campuses. Lecturers are expected to demonstrate mastery of subject matter, design engaging instruction, and align with college policies.

Qualifications include an associate degree in Culinary Arts or related field, a bachelor’s degree preferred, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to provide official transcripts.

Qualifications

• Must possess appropriate academic preparation.
• Must provide official transcripts and if transcripts are from a foreign institution, provide evaluation indicating equivalence by approved service.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Mastery of Subject Matter: Demonstrates thorough knowledge of field and qualifications to teach.
• Teaching Performance: Plans and organizes instruction to maximize student learning and engagement.
• Evaluation of Student Learning: Develops and uses evaluation methods and timely returns work.
• Support of College Policies and Procedures: Adheres to college policies and maintains confidentiality.
• Participation in College, Division, and Program Activities: Attends meetings and contributes to curriculum development.
• Contribution to the Growth and Enhancement of College Mission and Programs: Advises students and supports college goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
