Job summary

Elgin Community College is looking for a student to operate an automated dishwashing machine for the CUL 208 class at the Spartan Terrace Restaurant. Responsibilities include sorting and washing china, glassware, and silverware, as well as assisting with food prep as needed. The role offers variable hours between 6 - 20 based on scheduled events.

The candidate should be in the Culinary Arts and Hospitality department and is expected to have the ability to lift up to 40 lbs. The position provides an excellent opportunity to gain culinary experience in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to take direction from Chef Instructor(s).
• Ability to lift 40LBS, bend, twist.
• Student in the Culinary Arts and Hospitality department with full uniform preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sort and wash china.
• Wash glassware.
• Sort and wash silverware.
• Wash miscellaneous kitchen equipment as needed.
• Put clean dish items away.
• Assist with food prep as needed.
