Job summary

Cornerstone Management Communities is seeking a friendly Food Service Aide to support dining services for residents in our senior living communities. The role involves food preparation assistance, setting up the dining room, serving meals, and helping with dishwashing and cleanup.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and understand simple instructions and documentation, including basic medical terminology, in English.
• Punctual and reliable with good attendance record.
• Effective communication with residents, families, staff and other customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food prep, portioning, and plating meals according to menu and standards.
• Support safe food handling practices, including hygiene, temperature control, and proper storage.
• Set up dining room, serve meals, and ensure a clean, welcoming dining experience for residents.
• Operate dishwasher and maintain cleanliness of dishware, kitchen tools, and dining areas.
• Follow cleaning protocols and assist with waste disposal and recycling.
• Communicate with residents and respond to dining requests with care and professionalism.
• Support the mission and values of Cornerstone Management Communities.

Education

High School education/GED or equivalent

Able to read, write and comprehend simple instructions in English

Punctual with good attendance

Interpersonal skills and ability to work with seniors
