Job summary

American Senior Communities is seeking a Culinary Aide to support our residents in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This PRN - As needed role involves assisting with meal preparation, service, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen and dining area.

You will partner with culinary leaders, adapt to resident diet requirements, set up service areas, and help with tray and cart preparation. Prior food service is helpful; sanitation certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Sanitation/Safe Food Handling certification, unless required by State and Federal agencies. Certifications can be earned while employed with ASC.
• Preferred: Prior restaurant server experience.
• Required: Commitment to customer service
• Required: Willingness to perform routine tasks and effectively work alongside culinary team and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with culinary leaders to best meet the needs of residents to provide a positive dining experience.
• Assist in the preparation and portions of meal items according to the menu and resident diet requirements.
• Set up trays and carts in preparation for service to residents.
• Work with service staff to collect soiled trays and wash dishes.
• Cleans equipment as needed, maintaining a clean and sanitary workplace.
