Job summary

Sherwin-Williams in Winter Haven, FL, seeks a CTS Maintenance Technician to maintain safe operation of the trailer fleet. The role involves preventive maintenance, repairs, and daily inspections on a 3rd shift with a $0.75 per hour shift differential.

Applicants should have at least 1 year in maintenance and be 18+ with work authorization. Preference for a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in maintenance. Bonus eligibility is noted in company plans.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Check and refill lubrication reservoirs; inspect machinery during preventive maintenance.
• Operate shop tools and equipment used in trailer maintenance.
• Make repairs and adjustments to machinery and assist in dismantling parts for repair.
• Assist with CTS projects and trailer red tag repairs (lights, seals, tires, doors, brakes).
• Perform daily tire inspections; maintain pallet jacks and wheels; power equipment repairs.

The CTS Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the safe operating condition of our Contract Transportation Systems (CTS) trailer fleet. The CTS trailer maintenance technician is required to meet productivity requirements and must be an individual who works effectively and efficiently with little supervision.

Schedule: 3rd Shift Sunday - Thursday 10:00pm - 6:00am

Shift Differential: $0.75 per hour

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company’s staff, employees, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Checks and refills lubricant reservoirs, applies grease to lubricant points, inspects machinery while performing scheduled preventative maintenance
• Operate shop tools, equipment, and as many machines related to trailer maintenance
• Make repairs and adjustments to machinery and assist in dismantling all or parts of machinery to repair or replace defective components
• Assists in CTS projects
• Assists with trailer red tag repairs to include lights, leaking hub seals, placard replacement, tire pressure systems, door repair, floor repair, alignments, brakes, liftgate repairs, pallet jack repairs, basic 12v electrical troubleshooting, basic welding, GPS installation and service, trailer heater service landing gear service and repair are the major tasks
• Assists in PM functions as needed
• Performs basic trailer repairs
• Understands basic electrical and pneumatic
• Perform daily tire inspections to include flat repair, mount/dismount new and used tires
• Able to maintain pallet jack, trailer jack stand, and wheel chock service and repairs
• Perform repairs to power industrial equipment, assists in rebuilding of related equipment
• Maintains production equipment in good operating condition while optimizing equipment uptime to insure the safe and timely manufacture of quality powder coatings.
• Maintain reliability and operating efficiency of plant equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks in a timely manner to insure operation of all equipment, in an efficient and safe manner.
• Support site housekeeping and safety programs, maintaining a workplace that is clean and safe.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
• Must have at least one (1) years of work experience in maintenance

Preferred Qualification

• Have a bachelor's degree or higher
• Have at least three (3) years of work experience in maintenance
