Job summary

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation in Austin, TX is seeking a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Therapist (CTRS) to deliver client-centered, functional therapy in home and community settings.

You will design schedules with autonomy, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and help clients achieve real-life goals through tailored recreation programs and activity plans, while maintaining clinical documentation and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation Therapy is required.
• CTRT certification through NCTRC is required.
• State license/certification if required by the state is preferred.
• Minimum of two years therapeutic therapy experience.
• Experience with neurologic or orthopedic injuries is preferred.
• Strong communication, independence, and teamwork skills are required.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel daily is needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive evaluations with rehabilitation team.
• Adjusts treatment to maximize independence and function.
• Plans, organizes, and coordinates recreation activities and leisure skills.
• Interviews patients to assess capabilities and barriers, monitors progress.
• Designs community reintegration activities to support physical and cognitive needs.
• Regularly re-assesses treatment effectiveness and goals.
• Communicates patient needs and progress to the treatment team and family.
• Maintains documentation per regulatory requirements.
• May work with rehabilitation staff to fulfill treatment plans.
