Job summary

The Vail Valley Foundation seeks a Chief Technology Officer to lead technology strategy and execution in support of mission impact. As a member of the leadership team, you will ensure reliable, secure, and scalable systems, data governance, and event-facing technology across programs and venues.

You will own a multi-year technology roadmap, manage budgets, oversee IT and cybersecurity, and coordinate with operations, marketing, venue, and development teams to deliver seamless event technology,

Responsibilities

• Strategy, Leadership & Governance: Develop multi-year tech roadmap aligned with organizational strategy, budget and operating plans; translate priorities into quarterly execution.
• Event Technology & Execution: Own end-to-end technology readiness for events with focus on experience, safety and reputation.
• Pre-Event Planning: Create and drive a technology production plan aligned to the event run-of-show, including contingency plans.
• Onsite/Live Execution: Ensure flawless performance of event infrastructure and coordinate staff and vendors.
• Post-Event: Lead debriefs and metrics; evaluate and manage third-party partners; define SLAs and on-site coverage.
