Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiothoracic Critical Care ICU (CTICU) team in Chicago. The role includes collaborative management of complex CTICU patients, including transplants, with plans of care developed alongside surgical services and critical care colleagues.

Responsibilities include prescribing medications, managing ventilation with respiratory therapy, and participating in emergency responses.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited program in nursing or physician assistant studies.
• Acute care certification for APRNs required.
• Illinois license for APRN or PA in good standing; credentialing through NMH MSO.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive management of CTICU patients including transplants.
• Develop and implement care plans with critical care and surgical services.
• Prescribe and manage medications and vasoactive agents; coordinate with respiratory therapy.
