Job summary

Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join The Canning Thoracic Institute (CTI) as part of our Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Rapid Response Team (RRT). This 100% inpatient role focuses on medically complex ICU patients and early stabilization of deteriorating patients in a collaborative, high‑touch environment.

The role requires a Master’s degree (nursing or PA), acute care certification, and Illinois licensure with MSO

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited school/college of nursing or a PA program is required.
• Acute care certification is required for APRNs.
• Current Illinois RN or APRN license with credentialing by MSO.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage care of critically ill patients with advanced monitoring and therapies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate ICU care.
• Respond to rapid response activations and stabilize deteriorating patients.
• Prescribe and order meds, tests, and procedures within privileges.
