Job summary

Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is recruiting Nurse Technicians for CTICU orientation and ongoing patient support under RN supervision. The program includes up to 11 weeks of training with a preceptor, 7am-7:30pm weekdays and rotating weekends.

We seek candidates with resilience, critical thinking, adaptability, and a strong work ethic to join a high-acuity cardiac care team. Part-time night shifts are included with potential cross-unit support as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days.
• 1 year of inpatient care experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ICU procedures such as placing ART lines, taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed baths, ambulation, wound care, catheterization, charting; act as safety attendant.
• Floated to other units as needed to provide 1:1 patient safety sitter.
• Contribute to development of individualized care plans.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of care.
• Explain the nurse technician role to patient, family and health team members.
• Support safe, high-quality care in a cost-effective manner.
• Maintain clean patient environment and report equipment issues to the appropriate department.
