Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator (RN) for the CTICU at the Columbia University/ Irving Medical Center campus. The role focuses on leading and developing educational programs for nursing staff, with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and bedside practice improvement.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Nursing, NYS RN licensure, and at least 4 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with preference for BLS instructor certification and

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing with NYS RN licensure.
• At least 4 years of recent Medical-Surgical clinical nursing experience.
• Current Basic Life Support Instructor certification preferred.
• National Certification in Nursing Professional Development or clinical specialty preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, plan, implement and evaluate educational programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, plan, implement and evaluate educational programs for nursing staff.
• Participate in unit-based huddles and clinical rounds to change bedside practice.
• Provide clinical mentorship and career guidance to new graduates and recently hired nurses.
• Assess learning needs and develop curricula and lesson plans accordingly.
• Evaluate staff competencies on a regular basis and update programs as needed.
