Job summary

SAINT LOUIS PUBLIC SCHOOLS is seeking a 12-month, full-time CTE Work Based Learning Specialist to lead and coordinate high-quality WBL experiences for students in Career and Technical Education.

Reports to the Director of Career and Technical Education and will connect students, educators, employers, and partners to provide internships, job shadowing, mentoring, tours, pre-apprenticeships, apprenticeships, and other career-connected learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and experience in education, workforce development, employer engagement, career services, or a related field.
• Strong writing, listening, and speaking skills.
• Experience coordinating internships, work-based learning, employer partnerships, or student placement programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, expand, and maintain partnerships with business, industry, labor, nonprofit, government, and postsecondary organizations to create work-based learning opportunities.
• Coordinate student placement in internships, job shadowing, career mentoring, workplace tours, pre-apprenticeships, apprenticeships, and other experiences.
• Collaborate with CTE instructors, counselors, and administrators to match students with appropriate work-based learning experiences.
• Ensure experiences align with CTE programs of study, career interests, and postsecondary goals.
• Monitor and document hours, experiences, and completion requirements in line with district and state expectations.
• Maintain records of employer partners, student placements, forms, site visits, evaluations, and outcomes.
• Provide guidance to teachers and staff on work-based learning requirements and supervision.
• Coordinate objectives, schedules, supervision plans, and evaluation processes with employers and educators.
• Collect and report work-based learning data for CTE, Perkins, DESE, and district reporting.
