Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks a Career and Technical Education teacher for 8th–12th grade. You will implement state standards, deliver rigorous CTE content across clusters, and monitor student progress while collaborating with families and staff.

A bachelor’s degree is required and Texas certification is preferred but not mandatory. The role includes planning rigorously, using assessments to guide instruction, and participating in after-school activities or tutoring as needed.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work experience
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting strongly preferred
• Licenses or Certifications: State certification preferred but not required
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution (required)

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations for CTE coursework
• Learn, master, and deliver relevant content and grade level curriculum, core content objectives and texts
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback
• Implement formal and informal assessments to track each student’s progress and learning needs
• Communicate students’ progress with student and family on a weekly basis
• Facilitate and use technology to improve student achievement and manage tasks
• Establish a consistent behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives
• Help shape a school-wide culture that fosters a productive learning environment
• Maintain cooperative relationships with students and families
• Host tutoring sessions as needed and participate in weekly staff meetings
• Engage in ongoing professional development and district-wide activities
