Job summary

Kenaitze Indian Tribe seeks a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator to work in the College and Career Readiness Center, guiding students aged 6th grade and up toward post-secondary careers or vocational training.

You will manage an ILP-driven caseload, build internal and external partnerships, and provide intensive one-on-one advising to help students reach their career goals within a tribal education framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in Education or related field, or a mix of education and experience may be substituted.
• Three years of experience in education or career readiness programs.
• Valid Alaska driver’s license and insurability under Tribe's policy.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or obtainable within 90 days of hire.
• Travel: local, in-state, and out-of-state.

Responsibilities

• Establishes a caseload of students pursuing career or technical education.
• Sets SMART goals for students through an Individual Learning Plan (ILP).
• Establishes and maintains partnerships to support student goals.
• Works with middle school students on career exploration in vocational paths.
• Guides high school students on prerequisites for their chosen career or technical program.
• Supports students post‑secondary as they progress in their careers or further education.
• Provides tools to help students overcome barriers.
• Conducts workshops as needed.
• Ensures compliance with tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and tribal policies.
