Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Valid Washington state teaching certificate and maintenance of a valid certificate is required.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Fingerprint check per 25 CFR 63.
• Must possess a current First Aid/CPR card.
• Must have no history of child abuse or neglect or drug/alcohol abuse.
• Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with ability to obtain Yakama Nation Driving permit.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Communicates clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Prepares lessons and activities using common core state standards and best practices strategies.
• Administers all classroom-based assessments and standardized tests as directed.
• Creates an effective environment for learning through positive student interactions.
• Guides the learning process toward curriculum goals; communicates objectives to students.
• Regularly communicates with parents/guardians about student progress.
• Identifies student needs and cooperates with staff to help students solve problems.
• Maintains professional competence through in-service education and growth activities.
• Supervises students during the workday and in activities.
• References students with special needs to appropriate staff for support.
• Participates in faculty committees and sponsorship of student activities.
• Works with para-educators and other staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned by administrator.
