Weekend Program Requirements
Participants must:
- Work 48 weekends per year
- Work 24 hours per weekend (either two 12-hour shifts or three 8-hour shifts)
- Complete scheduled hours between Friday at 3:00 p.m. and Monday at 7:00 a.m.
- Have a minimum of six months of CT experience
Additional program guidelines:
- Up to 96 hours of combined PTO and ITO may be used on weekends per fiscal year, allowing for up to eight weekend shifts off annually.
- Holiday scheduling requirements mirror those of non-weekend staff.
- Extra weekday shifts are optional and paid at the standard weekday rate but do not replace required weekend hours.
What You'll Do
As a CT Technologist, you will perform advanced imaging procedures with minimal supervision while delivering exceptional patient care and producing high-quality diagnostic images.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing computed tomography procedures using established imaging protocols, including contrast administration.
- Utilizing advanced CT equipment for image acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation.
- Independently adjusting protocols and applying sound clinical judgment to obtain optimal diagnostic images.
- Administering oral, rectal, and IV contrast in accordance with physician orders and department policies.
- Demonstrating proficiency in venipuncture and power injector usage.
- Reviewing patient histories, assessing physician orders, and applying department protocols to ensure accurate imaging results.
- Accurately documenting patient information and maintaining imaging records within electronic systems.
- Ensuring exams are properly coded, tracked, archived, and charged through RIS and PACS systems.
- Verifying patient identity using two approved identifiers and following all universal safety protocols.
- Providing compassionate patient care by clearly explaining procedures, easing concerns, and fostering cooperation.
- Collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, and fellow team members to support efficient patient care.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT certification required.
- CT certification or eligibility preferred.
- Minimum of six months of relevant CT experience required.
- Strong technical, communication, and patient-care skills.
