Wellstar Vinings Health Park in Smyrna, Georgia is seeking a FT Outpatient Registered CT Technologist. Technologists are valued clinical professionals in a collaborative care team with emphasis on quality imaging and patient safety.

The role requires ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications, a radiologic technology program, and at least 1 year of radiology experience. Join a supportive environment with career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completed an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: minimum 1 year in Radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography) and ARRT-CT.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).

Responsabilités

• Perform CT procedures per department guidelines and acquire quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment independently while maintaining ALARA principles.
• Disinfect rooms and equipment; report issues promptly.
• Obtain clinical history, verify orders, and use two patient identifiers.
• Explain procedures using AIDET; address questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the visit.
• Administer contrast per protocol with sterile technique when applicable.
• Prepare and position patients; apply markers and shielding as needed.
• Review images for diagnostic quality and finalize studies in RIS/PACS.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, restock equipment as required.

Required Qualifications

Core Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, use your technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images
• Work independently operating imaging and radiographic equipment safely and adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA)
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms and equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat or correct as needed and release patients appropriately
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS and PACS, including transfers, retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain and restock crash cart and life-support equipment as required
• Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists and modalities to support department flow
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging and clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevate issues to the supervisor
