Job summary

Wellstar Vinings Health Park in Smyrna, Georgia is seeking a FT Outpatient Registered CT Technologist. You will perform CT procedures and work within a collaborative imaging team while ensuring patient safety and high-quality diagnostic imaging.

The role requires ARRT-R/CT certification, radiology experience, and BLS. Expect sign-on bonuses and relocation assistance for eligible candidates; full-time schedule is 4x10-hour shifts, 9am-7:30pm, Mon/Tues/Thu/Fri.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in Radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT-R, ARRT-CT, BLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures per department guidelines and maintain diagnostic image quality.
• Operate imaging equipment independently and keep dose ALARA.
• Disinfect and prepare rooms and equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history and verify orders with two patient identifiers.
• Explain procedures clearly using AIDET and address patient questions.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout visits.
• Administer contrast via venipuncture when applicable and follow sterile technique.
• Position patients, apply markers and shielding, and ensure proper immobilization.
• Review and finalize studies in RIS and PACS, including transfers and prior exams.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies; restock equipment as needed.
• Organize daily workflows and support department operations and compliance.

Required Qualifications

Core Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, use your technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images
• Work independently operating imaging and radiographic equipment safely and adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA)
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms and equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat or correct as needed and release patients appropriately
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS and PACS, including transfers, retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain and restock crash cart and life-support equipment as required
• Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists and modalities to support department flow
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging and clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevate issues to the supervisor
