Wellstar Vinings Health Park in Smyrna, GA, is seeking a FT Outpatient Registered CT Technologist. You will perform CT exams as part of a collaborative radiology team, ensuring high-quality images while maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure.

The role requires a radiologic technology program completion, ARRT-R and ARRT-CT certifications, and a minimum of 1 year radiology experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year radiology experience.
• ARRT-R (Radiography) certification.
• ARRT-CT certification.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).

Responsabilités

• Perform CT procedures per department guidelines and capture quality diagnostic images.
• Operate imaging equipment independently while maintaining ALARA principles.
• Disinfect and maintain rooms and equipment per infection control schedules.
• Verify orders and patient identifiers; obtain clinical history.
• Explain procedures and prep to patients to reduce anxiety and improve understanding.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout the visit.
• Administer contrast as per protocol using proper venipuncture technique.
• Position patients and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and re-scan if needed.
• Document procedures accurately in RIS/PACS and manage transfers/retreivals when required.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies; restock equipment as needed.
• Coordinate daily workflows to meet timelines and support department operations.

Required Qualifications

Core Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, use your technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images
• Work independently operating imaging and radiographic equipment safely and adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA)
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms and equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat or correct as needed and release patients appropriately
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS and PACS, including transfers, retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain and restock crash cart and life-support equipment as required
• Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists and modalities to support department flow
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging and clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevate issues to the supervisor
