Job summary

Wellstar Vinings Health Park in Smyrna, Georgia is seeking a FT Outpatient Registered CT Technologist. Technologists are essential to a collaborative care team and support patient comfort, safety, and high-quality imaging.

The role requires a Radiologic Technology program completion, ARRT credentials in Radiography and CT, and at least 1 year of radiology experience. BLS is also required. This position offers sign-on and relocation assistance and a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent and Accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year Radiology experience.
• Certifications: ARRTR (Radiography) and ARRT-CT; BLS required.
• Licensing: ARRT credentials current.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures per department guidelines and ensure diagnostic image quality.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and minimize dose (ALARA).
• Clean and disinfect rooms; report equipment issues promptly.
• Verify orders, obtain histories, and use two patient identifiers.
• Explain procedures using AIDET; address questions and reduce anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety during visits.
• Administer contrast per protocol; use venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable.
• Position patients accurately; apply markers and shielding as indicated.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability and document findings in RIS/PACS.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and support life-support equipment as needed.
• Maintain workflow and assist with department operations and compliance.

Required Qualifications

Core Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures according to department guidelines, use your technical knowledge to capture quality diagnostic images
• Work independently operating imaging and radiographic equipment safely and adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality at the lowest reasonable dose (ALARA)
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms and equipment per infection control schedules; identify and report equipment issues promptly
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two unique patient identifiers before any exam
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care clearly using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol, using venipuncture and sterile technique when applicable
• Position patients correctly and apply markers, shielding, and immobilization as indicated
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat or correct as needed and release patients appropriately
• Complete accurate, timely documentation and ensure studies are correctly finalized in RIS and PACS, including transfers, retrieval, CDs, and prior exam retrieval as needed
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and help maintain and restock crash cart and life-support equipment as required
• Organize daily workflows to meet expected timeframes; collaborate with technologists and modalities to support department flow
• Support operations and compliance, keep areas orderly and stocked, transport patients safely, complete charging and clerical tasks, follow regulatory requirements, and elevate issues to the supervisor
