Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. seeks a CT Technologist I to operate CT equipment, position patients, and ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging with strict adherence to safety protocols.

You will work with radiologists and the healthcare team to deliver timely results and exceptional patient care in a fast-paced setting. The role requires 1–2 years of clinical radiologic experience and 2–4 years of CT experience in acute care settings; licensure and CT certification or eligibility are required,

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of clinical radiologic experience required.
• 2-4 years CT Technologist experience in acute care hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT equipment and processing systems to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Prepare and position patients for CT procedures with appropriate immobilization.
• Verify patient identification and physician orders; screen for contraindications.
• Perform creatinine testing and calculate GFR when needed for contrast studies; document results.
• Administer contrast media following safety protocols; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Explain procedures to patients; address questions to alleviate anxiety and provide instructions.
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team to ensure timely, patient-centered care.
• Assist with interventional CT procedures (biopsies, drain placements) and sterile field setup.
• Review images for technical accuracy; present studies to radiologist and communicate findings.
• Document patient history and correlate with imaging for accurate interpretation.
• Maintain CT equipment and perform quality control; report malfunctions.
• Respond to emergencies involving contrast reactions or urgent imaging needs per protocol.
• Maintain clean, stocked work area and ensure CT readiness; follow infection control and radiation safety guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain reliable attendance.
