Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a CT Technologist to perform radiologic exams, verify orders with radiologists, and ensure patient safety and comfort. The role includes preparing patients, obtaining histories, and assisting in CT procedures with strict adherence to sterile technique and radiation safety protocols.

Ideal candidates have ARRT radiology credentials or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine with ARRT CT registry within one year of hire, and BLS certification.

• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development.
• Demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient. Refers and questions orders to the Radiologist before performing exam.
• Identifies patients and assists with procedures, providing full explanations.
• Interviews patients for medical history and reviews EMRs to obtain pertinent clinical history.
• Assists in CT scanning and invasive procedures with proper sterile technique.
• Maintains radiation safety and reports malfunctioning equipment.
