Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a CT technologist to perform CT scans, verify orders with radiologists, and ensure patient safety. You will prepare patients, administer contrast, and maintain high image quality while adhering to safety protocols.

The role requires ARRT or NMTCB CT registry within one year of hire, BLS, and ARRT recognition. You will collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and technologists in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine program.
• ARRT or NMTCB certification with CT registry within one year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders with Radiologist before performing exam.
• Identify and assist patients, explain procedures, and document on worksheets.
• Interview patients for med history and review EMR for pertinent data.
• Own the exam from start to final dictated results.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast per protocols; record type and amount.
• Evaluate image quality and consult Radiologist; adjust as needed.
• Provide basic patient care and respond to changes in condition; assist in codes.
• Perform CT scanning and assist during invasive procedures; maintain sterile technique.
• Obtain medications or contrast as directed by licensed practitioner.
• Follow radiation safety guidelines and report equipment issues.
• Adhere to fire/safety procedures and attend required trainings.
• Work during crises, rotate shifts, and follow attendance policy.
• Operate radiology computer system to enter orders and document contrast in MAR.
• Keep work areas neat and stocked; support other medical staff as needed.
