Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Part Time CT Technologist for our Newark, NJ facility. The role involves performingComputed Tomography examinations, ensuring patient safety, and delivering high-quality images with clear communication to patients and radiologists.

The candidate should hold ARRT CT certification (or NMTCB CT in lieu), a valid state license, CPR certification, and a high school diploma with preferred Associate's degree. A state driver’s license and strong customer service skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
• ARRT CT registry is required; NMTCB CT acceptable in lieu of ARRT.
• State license and CPR certification are required.
• Licensed in Medical Imaging where applicable.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and pre-screen for contraindications to radiation/contrast.
• Produce high quality diagnostic CT images.
• Communicate with patients and radiologists.
• Train new technologists and/or PCs.
• Troubleshoot scanner and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, etc.).

We are currently hiring for a CT Technologist at our Newark, NJ facility. This will be a Part Time position.

Our CT Technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure and put them at ease.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections. Also, the use of aseptic injection techniques.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologist and/or PC's.
• Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.).

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT.
• If allowable by state where service is provided certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable in lieu of ARRT registry.
• State license.
• Licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable.
• CPR certification.
• Technologists performing mid-day moves.
• Active State Driver’s License.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multitasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs
• The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.

Eligibility for benefits will vary based on role type and hours worked.

The estimated hourly pay range for this role in NJ is $29.80 - $53.63. Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, location, and other factors such as internal equity and budget.
