Job summary

Atrium Health Mercy, a facility of Carolinas Medical Center, is seeking a CT Technologist I to operate CT scanners and related equipment per protocol. You will ensure accurate patient preparation, order verification, and documentation, while maintaining high safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with contrast administration, reviewing clinical history, and collaborating with Radiologists.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine program.
• ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and ARRT CT within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders; refers to Radiologist when needed.
• Identifies patients and explains procedures; prepares patients and documents procedure.
• Reviews EMR for medical history and correlates results with the exam.
• Operates CT scanners and related equipment; ensures sterile technique and safety.
• Maintains radiation safety practices and reports equipment malfunctions.
• Rotates shifts, including call back, holidays, and weekends.
• Operates radiology computer system for orders and charting; documents contrast administration.
