Job summary

Join our team at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach as a CT Technologist. This PRN role supports Ancillary CT Scan services, including the Emergency Department and inpatient imaging, using state-of-the-art technology to produce diagnostic cross‑section images with precision.

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT registered, CT certification within a year, state licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by ARRT in good standing.
  • Certification in Computed Tomography within one year of hire.
  • Current state licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues using CT imaging.
  • Interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, and position patients.
  • Operate CT equipment and maintain ALARA standards.
  • Coordinate scheduling, patient information, networking and informatics.
  • Document in charts and ensure electronic data is transmitted properly.
  • Inspect equipment and ensure proper orientation.
  • Provide copies of imaging studies.
  • Adhere to state and national regulations.
  • Collaborate with leadership to meet department goals.

As a CT Technologist, you will produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of various medical issues. Utilizing your advanced training and knowledge, you will accurately interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare andoperatethe equipment, and position the patient to capture theappropriate images.In thisparticular role, youwill be a part of diagnostic imaging, whichwill include involvement with patients inboththe Emergency Room and staying in the hospital.You willsetthe tone for the patientregardingwhat news it delivered.This role is critical in the overall treatment of our patients, making you an invaluable asset to the Cleveland Clinic system.

Acaregiver in this positionworksPRN (as needed) variable shifts.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Perform duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation to detect pathology.

  • Perform routine, emergent,invasiveand special procedures.

  • Operate equipment safely andmaintainA.L.A.R.A. standards while performing procedures.

  • Coordinate and answer questionsregardingscheduling, patient information,networkingand informatics.

  • Document in charts and ensure that all electronic data is sent to itsappropriate destination.

  • Inspect equipment to ensure proper orientation.

  • Provide copies of imaging studies.

  • Abide by all regulations that apply to state and national standards.

  • Maintain adequate supplies in the work area with items necessary to perform the daily schedule.

  • Collaborate with department leadership to develop and implement methods to achieve established goals andobjectivesfor the department.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology

  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(R) (ARRT)] in good standing

  • Certification in Computed Tomography [R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)] within one year of hire

  • Current state licensure

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Two years of experience as an Imaging Technologist in an acute care imaging setting
Physical Requirements:
  • Mental Demands: Ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests and to work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team and ability to ensure operational efficiency; ability to problem solve and make decisions; ability to exercise self-control and tolerate stress when dealing with multiple requests and/or conflicting demands from multiple customers.
  • Special Demands: Needs minimal sustained direction in assessing needs, carrying out departmental and professional responsibilities; self-starting and self-motivating; working hours may exceed eight (8) hours per day and is based on what is needed to accomplish work at hand.
  • Physical Requirements: Requires sitting at a workstation or desk; requires standing; work may include occasional pushing and/or pulling, lifting, and carrying objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Work requires finger dexterity and eye hand coordination to operate a computer keyboard at a moderate skill level.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
