Job Summary and Qualifications

The CT Technologist performs CT and radiologic procedures following ARRT standards and hospital policies, optimizing radiation use and ensuring patient safety. Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy, patient care, radiation protection, and specialized techniques, maintaining professionalism aligned with ARRT Code of Ethics and hospital values.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality CT scans across all age groups.
• Follow established protocols and operate CT equipment efficiently.
• Complete scans promptly, managing workflow effectively.
• Modify techniques for trauma or challenging patients.
• Understand disease processes to produce diagnostic studies.
• Educate patients about procedures and sensations.
• Use power injectors within safety limits.
• Document all procedures accurately.
• Assist radiologists during invasive procedures.

Education

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.

Experience

• Preferred: One year of CT experience.

Licensing/Certifications

• Texas Medical Board certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
• ARRT certification in Radiology and post-primary CT certification within 6 months.
• BLS or CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
