Job Summary and Qualifications

The CT Technologist performs CT and radiologic procedures in accordance with ARRT standards and hospital policies, optimizing radiation use and demonstrating knowledge of anatomy, patient safety, positioning, radiographic principles, radiation protection, contrast medication safety, and specialized techniques. Maintains professional conduct aligned with ARRT ethics and St. David’s values.

Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality CT scans for all age groups.
  • Follow established protocols and operate CT equipment efficiently.
  • Complete scans timely, managing workflow to meet urgent demands.
  • Handle challenging patients with proficiency, adjusting techniques as needed.
  • Understand disease processes to produce diagnostic studies.
  • Educate patients about procedures and sensations.
  • Operate power injectors within limits.
  • Document accurately in logs and systems.
  • Assist radiologists during invasive procedures.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • Preferred: One year of CT experience.
  • Licensed by Texas Medical Board as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • ARRT certification in Radiology; post-primary CT certification within 6 months.
  • BLS or CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
