Join to apply for the CT Technologist PRN role at LCMC Health.

The CT Technologist performs radiographic procedures independently, applying ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Under the direction of the Radiology and Imaging Director, responsibilities include operating imaging equipment, managing daily department operations, patient scheduling, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance. The role requires maintaining high ethical standards, initiative, and ongoing professional development.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

1. Promote Quality: Ensure a safe environment, participate in performance improvement, and maintain technical quality assurance.
2. Patient Procedures: Confirm patient identity, position patients, select technical factors, operate equipment, and provide radiation protection.
3. Patient Communication: Educate and reassure patients, assist with contrast media, and ensure safety protocols.
4. Equipment & Safety: Report malfunctions, perform daily checks, troubleshoot, and maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas.
5. Education & Compliance: Attend mandatory training, adhere to safety standards, and participate in departmental meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

• Preferred: Associate's Degree or 2-year certification in Radiologic Technology and 1-year CT/Diagnostic experience.
• CHNOLA Location: Must obtain CT Registry by ARRT within one year.

Licenses & Certifications

• Required: BLS (American Heart Association), Radiography Certification (ARRT), CT Certification (ARRT, within 3 years), Louisiana State Radiologic Technician License.

Skills & Abilities

• Operate imaging equipment effectively.

Physical & Other Demands

• Heavy physical effort required, including lifting and frequent standing, walking, and reaching.
